Get Started with FarmSure in 15 Minutes

For Farmers - Your First 15 Minutes

Step 1: Login (2 minutes)

  1. Go to farmsure.com
  2. Enter your username and password
  3. Click "Login"
  4. Welcome to your dashboard!

Step 2: Add Your First Farm (3 minutes)

  1. Click Farms in the menu
  2. Click + Add New Farm
  3. Fill in:
    • Farm Name: e.g., "Green Valley Farm"
    • Address: Your farm's physical address
    • Province: Select from dropdown
  4. Click Save Farm

Step 3: Register Your First Animal (5 minutes)

  1. Click Animals in the menu
  2. Click + Add New Animal
  3. Fill in the essentials:
    • Farm: Select the farm you just created
    • Species: e.g., Cattle
    • Breed: e.g., Nguni
    • Reference: e.g., CATTLE-001
    • Sex: Male or Female
    • Date of Birth: Or approximate age
  4. Click Save Animal

Step 4: Explore the System (5 minutes)

  • Dashboard - See your statistics
  • Testing - Browse available tests
  • Marketplace - See animals for sale
  • Payments - Check your balance
  • Profile - Update your information

What's Next?

To order your first test:

  1. Testing → Buy Tests
  2. Select a test
  3. Choose your animal
  4. Pay with bank transfer
  5. Wait for admin to schedule collection

To sell an animal:

  1. Marketplace → My Listings
  2. Click "+ New Listing"
  3. Select animal, set price, write description
  4. Create listing

To buy an animal:

  1. Marketplace → Browse
  2. Find an animal you like
  3. Add to Cart
  4. Checkout and make payment
  5. Wait for transfer

For Administrators - Your First Day

Morning Setup (30 minutes)

1. Review Dashboard

Check:

  • Total system statistics
  • Today's scheduled collections
  • Pending verifications
  • Urgent actions

2. Process Pending Items

Priority order:

  1. Scheduled collections (mark completed)
  2. Payment verifications (verify bank payments)
  3. Results review (approve lab results)
  4. Marketplace orders (process payments & transfers)

3. Import Today's Bank Statement

  1. Export from bank (CSV)
  2. Financial Dashboard → Bank Import
  3. Upload file
  4. Review auto-matches
  5. Manually match remaining transactions

Daily Checklist

Morning (09:00): ☐ Check today's scheduled collections ☐ Review pending payment verifications ☐ Check urgent notifications Midday (13:00): ☐ Process verified buyer payments ☐ Pay sellers for completed orders ☐ Update collection statuses Afternoon (16:00): ☐ Import bank statement ☐ Reconcile transactions ☐ Approve lab results ☐ Process marketplace transfers End of Day (17:00): ☐ Review pending tasks ☐ Generate daily report ☐ Plan tomorrow's schedule

For Lab Staff - Your First Sample

When Sample Arrives

1. Log Sample Receipt (5 minutes)

  1. Login to FarmSure
  2. Go to Samples
  3. Find expected sample by ID
  4. Verify physical sample matches system
  5. Check sample quality
  6. Note any issues
  7. Store appropriately

2. Perform Test

  • Follow your lab's standard procedures
  • Document all steps
  • Run quality controls
  • Record results carefully

3. Upload Results (10 minutes)

  1. Click Upload Results
  2. Select sample
  3. Fill in all fields (test date, result, quality, notes)
  4. Attach data files if needed
  5. Review everything
  6. Click Submit Results

  • Logout when done (especially on shared computers)
  • Use strong passwords (8+ characters, mixed case, numbers)
  • Don't click suspicious links in emails

  • Double-check before submitting
  • Save/download important documents
  • Update your profile information
