Getting Started

Logging In

  1. Open your web browser
  2. Navigate to the FarmSure website
  3. Enter your username and password
  4. Click Login
First-time login: You'll be prompted to update your profile information.

When you login, you'll see 4 key statistics:

  • Farms: Total number of your registered farms
  • Animals: Total animals across all your farms
  • Pending Tests: Laboratory tests awaiting results
  • Active Listings: Animals currently listed for sale

Recent Activity

The dashboard shows:

  • Recent Test Orders: Last 5 tests you've ordered
  • Recent Marketplace Activity: Your recent sales/purchases
  • Pending Actions: Tasks requiring your attention

Farm Management

Viewing Your Farms

  1. Click Farms in the navigation menu
  2. You'll see a list of all your registered farms

Farm Information Displayed:

  • Farm Name
  • Physical Address
  • Registration Number (if applicable)
  • Number of Animals
  • Actions (View, Edit)

Adding a New Farm

  1. Go to Farms β†’ Click + Add New Farm
  2. Fill in the farm details:
    • Farm Name: e.g., "Springbok Valley Farm"
    • Address: Complete physical address
    • City/Town
    • Province
    • Postal Code
    • Registration Number (optional): Official farm registration
  3. Click Save Farm

Example:

Farm Name: Springbok Valley Farm Address: Plot 42, R40 Road City: Barberton Province: Mpumalanga Postal Code: 1300 Registration: Farm-MP-12345

Editing Farm Details

  1. Go to Farms
  2. Click Edit next to the farm you want to modify
  3. Update the information
  4. Click Save Changes

Viewing Farm Details

  1. Click View next to any farm
  2. You'll see:
    • Complete farm information
    • List of all animals on this farm
    • Quick actions (Add Animal, Transfer Animals)

Animal Management

Viewing All Animals

  1. Click Animals in the navigation menu
  2. You'll see a table with all your animals

Registering a New Animal

Option 1: Single Animal Registration

  1. Go to Animals β†’ Click + Add New Animal
  2. Fill in the animal details:

Basic Information:

  • Farm: Select from your farms
  • Species: Cattle, Sheep, Goat, Pig, etc.
  • Breed: e.g., Nguni, Brahman, Dorper
  • Reference Code: Unique identifier (e.g., CATTLE-001)
  • Sex: Male or Female
  • Date of Birth: Select date or enter approximate age

Physical Characteristics:

  • Color/Markings: Description of the animal's appearance
  • Weight: Current weight in kg
  • Pregnant: Yes/No (for females)

Identification:

  • Tag Number: Ear tag or identification number
  • Microchip: Microchip number (if applicable)
  • DNA Sample ID: DNA test reference (if applicable)
  1. Click Save Animal

Example Registration:

Species: Cattle Breed: Nguni Reference: NGUNI-2025-001 Sex: Male Date of Birth: 2023-03-15 Color: Black with white face Weight: 450 kg Tag Number: ZA-12345 Farm: Springbok Valley Farm

Option 2: Batch Registration

For registering multiple animals at once:

  1. Go to Animals β†’ Click Batch Import
  2. Download the CSV template
  3. Fill in the spreadsheet with animal details
  4. Upload the completed file
  5. Review the preview
  6. Click Import Animals

Viewing Animal Details

  1. Click View next to any animal
  2. You'll see complete information:
    • All registration details
    • Test history
    • Marketplace listing status
    • Transfer history
    • Health records

Editing Animal Information

  1. Go to Animals β†’ Click Edit next to the animal
  2. Update any information
  3. Click Save Changes
Note: Reference codes cannot be changed after creation.

Laboratory Testing

Understanding the Testing Process

The testing workflow follows these stages:

1. ORDER TEST β†’ 2. PAYMENT β†’ 3. SCHEDULING β†’ 4. COLLECTION β†’ 5. LAB ANALYSIS β†’ 6. RESULTS β†’ 7. CERTIFICATE

Viewing Available Tests

  1. Click Testing in the navigation menu
  2. Browse available test products

Common Tests:

  • Pregnancy Test: Determine if female animals are pregnant
  • Brucellosis Test: Disease screening
  • Tuberculosis Test: TB screening
  • DNA Profiling: Genetic identification
  • Blood Panel: Complete health analysis

Ordering a Test

Step 1: Select Test and Animal

  1. Go to Testing β†’ Buy Tests
  2. Click on the test you want to order
  3. Select the animal to test from dropdown
  4. Choose preferred Collection Date
  5. Add any Special Instructions (optional)
  6. Click Add to Cart

Step 2: Review Cart

  1. Click Test Cart in the navigation
  2. Review your test orders
  3. Remove any unwanted tests
  4. Click Proceed to Checkout

Step 3: Payment

You'll see payment options via EFT/Bank Transfer:

After payment:

  1. Your test status changes to Pending Collection
  2. Admin will schedule the sample collection
  3. You'll receive notification of collection appointment

Tracking Test Status

  1. Go to Testing β†’ My Tests
  2. View all your test orders with status

Status Meanings:

  • 🟑 Pending Payment: Awaiting your payment
  • 🟑 Farmer Paid: Payment received, awaiting scheduling
  • 🟒 Scheduled: Collection appointment confirmed
  • 🟒 Collected: Sample collected, sent to lab
  • 🟒 In Lab: Lab is processing the sample
  • 🟒 Results Ready: Results available for viewing
  • βœ… Completed: Certificate generated

Viewing Test Results

When results are ready:

  1. Go to Testing β†’ My Tests
  2. Tests with results show a View Results button
  3. Click to see test results and download certificate

Marketplace Operations

The FarmSure Marketplace allows you to buy and sell animals with other farmers.

Selling Animals - Creating a Listing

Step 1: Create Listing

  1. Go to Marketplace β†’ My Listings
  2. Click + New Listing
  3. Select the animal you want to sell
  4. Set the Asking Price in Rands
  5. Write a Description highlighting the animal's qualities
  6. Upload Photos (optional but recommended)
  7. Click Create Listing

Step 2: Manage Your Listings

  1. Go to Marketplace β†’ My Listings
  2. You'll see all your active and inactive listings
  3. Actions available:
    • Edit: Update price or description
    • Deactivate: Remove from marketplace (animal stays yours)
    • View: See listing as buyers see it
    • Delete: Permanently remove listing

Buying Animals - Making a Purchase

Step 1: Browse Marketplace

  1. Click Marketplace in the navigation
  2. You'll see available animals for sale
  3. Use filters to narrow down by Species, Breed, Price Range, Location, Sex, Age

Step 2: View Animal Details

Click on any listing to see:

  • Complete animal information
  • Seller information
  • Test results (if available)
  • Photos
  • Price

Step 3: Add to Cart

  1. Click Add to Cart
  2. Animal is reserved for 24 hours
  3. Continue shopping or proceed to checkout

Step 4: Checkout & Payment

  1. Review your cart
  2. Admin verifies availability
  3. Make payment via EFT/Bank Transfer
  4. Upload proof of payment
  5. Admin processes the transaction
  6. Import the animal to your chosen farm

Viewing Order Status

  1. Go to Marketplace β†’ My Orders
  2. See all your purchases with current status

Payment & Financial Management

Understanding Payments

All payments in FarmSure are processed via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer).

Viewing Payment History

  1. Go to Payments
  2. View transaction history showing all incoming and outgoing payments

Making Payments via Bank Transfer

When paying via bank transfer:

After Making Bank Transfer:

  1. Take a screenshot or photo of the payment confirmation
  2. Go to Payments β†’ Find your order
  3. Click Upload Proof of Payment
  4. Select your screenshot/photo
  5. Click Submit

Profile Management

Viewing Your Profile

  1. Click Profile in the navigation menu
  2. View your account information

Updating Profile Information

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Click Edit Profile
  3. Update any information (Email, Phone, Banking details)
  4. Click Save Changes

Adding/Updating Banking Details

For receiving marketplace sale payments:

  1. Go to Profile β†’ Edit Profile
  2. Scroll to Banking Information
  3. Enter: Bank Name, Account Holder Name, Account Number, Branch Code, Account Type
  4. Click Save Banking Details
⚠️ Important: Accurate banking details are essential for receiving marketplace sale payments.

Changing Password

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Click Change Password
  3. Enter: Current Password, New Password, Confirm New Password
  4. Click Update Password

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one number
  • At least one special character
