Getting Started
Logging In
- Open your web browser
- Navigate to the FarmSure website
- Enter your username and password
- Click Login
Navigation Menu
After logging in, you'll see the main navigation menu:
Dashboard Overview
The Farmer Dashboard provides a quick overview of your farming operations.
Statistics Cards
When you login, you'll see 4 key statistics:
- Farms: Total number of your registered farms
- Animals: Total animals across all your farms
- Pending Tests: Laboratory tests awaiting results
- Active Listings: Animals currently listed for sale
Recent Activity
The dashboard shows:
- Recent Test Orders: Last 5 tests you've ordered
- Recent Marketplace Activity: Your recent sales/purchases
- Pending Actions: Tasks requiring your attention
Farm Management
Viewing Your Farms
- Click Farms in the navigation menu
- You'll see a list of all your registered farms
Farm Information Displayed:
- Farm Name
- Physical Address
- Registration Number (if applicable)
- Number of Animals
- Actions (View, Edit)
Adding a New Farm
- Go to Farms β Click + Add New Farm
- Fill in the farm details:
- Farm Name: e.g., "Springbok Valley Farm"
- Address: Complete physical address
- City/Town
- Province
- Postal Code
- Registration Number (optional): Official farm registration
- Click Save Farm

Editing Farm Details
- Go to Farms
- Click Edit next to the farm you want to modify
- Update the information
- Click Save Changes
Viewing Farm Details
- Click View next to any farm
- You'll see:
- Complete farm information
- List of all animals on this farm
- Quick actions (Add Animal, Transfer Animals)
Animal Management
Viewing All Animals
- Click Animals in the navigation menu
- You'll see a table with all your animals
Registering a New Animal
Option 1: Single Animal Registration
- Go to Animals β Click + Add New Animal
- Fill in the animal details:
Basic Information:
- Farm: Select from your farms
- Species: Cattle, Sheep, Goat, Pig, etc.
- Breed: e.g., Nguni, Brahman, Dorper
- Reference Code: Unique identifier (e.g., CATTLE-001)
- Sex: Male or Female
- Date of Birth: Select date or enter approximate age
Physical Characteristics:
- Color/Markings: Description of the animal's appearance
- Weight: Current weight in kg
- Pregnant: Yes/No (for females)
Identification:
- Tag Number: Ear tag or identification number
- Microchip: Microchip number (if applicable)
- DNA Sample ID: DNA test reference (if applicable)
- Click Save Animal

Option 2: Batch Registration
For registering multiple animals at once:
- Go to Animals β Click Batch Import
- Download the CSV template
- Fill in the spreadsheet with animal details
- Upload the completed file
- Review the preview
- Click Import Animals
Viewing Animal Details
- Click View next to any animal
- You'll see complete information:
- All registration details
- Test history
- Marketplace listing status
- Transfer history
- Health records
Editing Animal Information
- Go to Animals β Click Edit next to the animal
- Update any information
- Click Save Changes
Laboratory Testing
Understanding the Testing Process
The testing workflow follows these stages:
Viewing Available Tests
- Click Testing in the navigation menu
- Browse available test products
Common Tests:
- Pregnancy Test: Determine if female animals are pregnant
- Brucellosis Test: Disease screening
- Tuberculosis Test: TB screening
- DNA Profiling: Genetic identification
- Blood Panel: Complete health analysis
Ordering a Test
Step 1: Select Test and Animal
- Go to Testing β Buy Tests
- Click on the test you want to order
- Select the animal to test from dropdown
- Choose preferred Collection Date
- Add any Special Instructions (optional)
- Click Add to Cart
Step 2: Review Cart
- Click Test Cart in the navigation
- Review your test orders
- Remove any unwanted tests
- Click Proceed to Checkout
Step 3: Payment
You'll see payment options via EFT/Bank Transfer:
After payment:
- Your test status changes to Pending Collection
- Admin will schedule the sample collection
- You'll receive notification of collection appointment
Tracking Test Status
- Go to Testing β My Tests
- View all your test orders with status
Status Meanings:
- π‘ Pending Payment: Awaiting your payment
- π‘ Farmer Paid: Payment received, awaiting scheduling
- π’ Scheduled: Collection appointment confirmed
- π’ Collected: Sample collected, sent to lab
- π’ In Lab: Lab is processing the sample
- π’ Results Ready: Results available for viewing
- β Completed: Certificate generated
Viewing Test Results
When results are ready:
- Go to Testing β My Tests
- Tests with results show a View Results button
- Click to see test results and download certificate

- Selling animals (buyers often require test certificates)
- Veterinary records
- Export documentation
- Insurance claims
Marketplace Operations
The FarmSure Marketplace allows you to buy and sell animals with other farmers.
Selling Animals - Creating a Listing
Step 1: Create Listing
- Go to Marketplace β My Listings
- Click + New Listing
- Select the animal you want to sell
- Set the Asking Price in Rands
- Write a Description highlighting the animal's qualities
- Upload Photos (optional but recommended)
- Click Create Listing
Step 2: Manage Your Listings
- Go to Marketplace β My Listings
- You'll see all your active and inactive listings
- Actions available:
- Edit: Update price or description
- Deactivate: Remove from marketplace (animal stays yours)
- View: See listing as buyers see it
- Delete: Permanently remove listing
Buying Animals - Making a Purchase
Step 1: Browse Marketplace
- Click Marketplace in the navigation
- You'll see available animals for sale
- Use filters to narrow down by Species, Breed, Price Range, Location, Sex, Age
Step 2: View Animal Details
Click on any listing to see:
- Complete animal information
- Seller information
- Test results (if available)
- Photos
- Price
Step 3: Add to Cart
- Click Add to Cart
- Animal is reserved for 24 hours
- Continue shopping or proceed to checkout
Step 4: Checkout & Payment
- Review your cart
- Admin verifies availability
- Make payment via EFT/Bank Transfer
- Upload proof of payment
- Admin processes the transaction
- Import the animal to your chosen farm
Viewing Order Status
- Go to Marketplace β My Orders
- See all your purchases with current status

Understanding Payments
All payments in FarmSure are processed via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer).
Viewing Payment History
- Go to Payments
- View transaction history showing all incoming and outgoing payments
Making Payments via Bank Transfer
When paying via bank transfer:

After Making Bank Transfer:
- Take a screenshot or photo of the payment confirmation
- Go to Payments β Find your order
- Click Upload Proof of Payment
- Select your screenshot/photo
- Click Submit

Profile Management
Viewing Your Profile
- Click Profile in the navigation menu
- View your account information
Updating Profile Information
- Go to Profile
- Click Edit Profile
- Update any information (Email, Phone, Banking details)
- Click Save Changes
Adding/Updating Banking Details
For receiving marketplace sale payments:
- Go to Profile β Edit Profile
- Scroll to Banking Information
- Enter: Bank Name, Account Holder Name, Account Number, Branch Code, Account Type
- Click Save Banking Details
Changing Password
- Go to Profile
- Click Change Password
- Enter: Current Password, New Password, Confirm New Password
- Click Update Password
Password Requirements:
- Minimum 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
